Dr.Jart+ Water Fuse BB Cream

An ode to this little BB Cream. As you all know I love a BB cream, (see my review on the No7 one here) and when this arrived on our shores a few months back courtesy of Boots I had to give it a whirl.

BB creams originated in the East, Dr Jart+'s are Asia's 'wonder' beauty product, bridging the gap between skincare and makeup, rolling everything up into one nifty little tube. As a busy mama any time saving option is always the way forward so these BB creams are a lifesaver. The Water Fuse bb cream is one of four available, these four are;

Dr Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF40 - Provides high SPF40 protection with anti-oxidents. A slightly glossy, low coverage cream which helps fight ageing. Particularly suitable for those over 30.

Dr Jart+ Platinum Beauty Balm SPF30 - Provides high coverage in a light application. The moisturising lotion is particularly suitable for those in their 30s.

Dr Jart+ Regenerating Beauty Balm SPF30 - Provides strong coverage for redness and spots which won't rub off as easily as traditional cosmetics. Skin will look brighter, whilst still suitable for problem and sensitive skin. Particularly suitable for those between 20 and 35.

Dr Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm SPF25 - ideal for those aged 20-35s with a soft application which gives natural, fresh looking skin and controls sebum production.

I tried the Platinum version first which was way too heavy a coverage for me, and had a real grey tinge which didn't fix itself. So that went back to Boots and I plumped *excuse the pun, for the Water Fuse option instead.

They say
Flawless skin instantly with all-in-one multifunctional Water Fuse Beauty Balm. Water Fuse BB's natural-looking coverage evens skin tone and minimises the appearance of imperfections. Advanced Water Bead Technology helps hydrate and maintain healthy moisture for a dewy, fresh look. Oil-free, this BB cream minimises the need for foundation or concealer. Added suncreen protection for simple, balanced, one-step skincare coverage.

Suncreen to help protect the skin
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice slows the loss of water from the skin.
Portulaca Oleracea Extract to soothe, calm and for anti-redness.

I say

I really like this bb cream. It is a lot thicker than other bb creams I have used, lending a real luxury feel to the product, and the thickness makes it super moisturising and rich on application. It makes it feel like you're applying a quality skin care product, rather than just a tinted moisturiser with a few added extras. When you blend it in it turns a scary greige colour and tiny water bubbles appear as you rub it in (see second down hand picture). The coverage is light though, I use a concealer on top, because of this it really evens out your skin tone letting your natural freckles and skin shine through. The colour is good too, it does take a few minutes to sink in a blend to your skin colour, and it is neither dewy nor matte (if that makes sense?!). I have quite fair skin though, this is not one for tanned skin and i definitely wont use it in the summer. If I have time in the mornings I whack some good moisturiser on first, this over the top makes your skin look glowing, but not greasy and basically super healthy. It lasts all day and would obviously need a bit of powdering by the end of the day if you were going out but overall it is very good.

You can buy the Dr.Jart+ range from Boots.
